Environmental Biology is a Physical Science at the intersection of environmental science, ecology, evolution and global change. Environmental biology examines the ways organisms, species and communities influence and are impacted by natural and human-altered ecosystems. Graduates of Environmental Biology have the prospects of being employed as ecologists with regional conservation authorities; as environmental scientists or biologists with the government or planning and engineering firms; environmental impact assessors in environmental consulting firms; conservation biologists in governmental and international conservation organizations; education coordinators in environmental NGOs; as climate change risk assessors in the private sector or as environmental planner in the fisheries, forestry or mining sector.
The Department of Biological Sciences awards Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology (B.Sc. Environmental Biology)
