Introduction: Statistical computing also described as computational statistics is the intersection between computer science and statistical mathematics. Like traditional statistics, the objective of statistical computing is to transform raw data into knowledge and insight. This is done by examining data sets and determining relationships between variables in the data. While traditional statistics relies on mathematical models and formulas that result in asymptotic approximation of limits, computational statistics relies on computationally intensive statistical methods and borrows more techniques from discrete mathematics that approximate analog results.
