Dr Akinseye Victor Oluwatoyin

Profile & Experiences:

Victor Oluwatoyin Akinseye is a biochemist in the Department of Chemical Sciences, Faculty of Science, Augustine University, Ilara-Epe, Lagos State, Nigeria. He obtained his Master’s Degree (Oncology and Molecular Biology) in 2011 from the Premier University (University of Ibadan), Nigeria. His lecturing career began in 2017, as an Assistant Lecturer in Augustine University where he is involved in teaching students of the department of Chemical Sciences and Biological Sciences biochemistry courses. His research activities span nine years and he’s been involved in several research projects covering major areas in toxicology, immunology and molecular biology.

He has over twenty research articles published in learned journals. His research focus revolves round deciphering the immunological mechanisms underlying how the native and enhanced immune system handle common pathogenic organisms and environmental toxicants that we are constantly being exposed to either directly or indirectly. He is also involved in investigating the toxicological and molecular mechanisms as well as ameliorative efficacy of natural plant products on commonly used carcinogens on rats hepatocytes and nephrocytes.

He has been involved in training undergraduate and post graduate students in the area of biochemistry and public health. He is a member of two professional bodies namely: Nigeria Society of Experimental Biology (NISEB) and Nigeria Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (NSBMB-Omics).
