Bakare Family Visits Augustine University, Reviews Progress of Faculty of Law Building

The family of Chief Stephen Bakare, a benefactor supporting the construction of the Faculty of Law Building at Augustine University, Ilara-Epe, Lagos State, on Friday, 9th October 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the University to inspect the progress of work on the building and discuss plans for advancing the project to its next phase.

The family was represented by Chief Bakare’s son, Mr. Muyiwa Bakare, who was received by the Vice-Chancellor of Augustine University, Rev. Fr. Professor Anthony Alaba Akinwale, OP. He was accompanied by the University’s Director of Works and Services, Engr. Tunde Bello; the building project Consultant, Arc. Olufemi Aina; the building project Contractor, Michael Okogie; the Senior Assistant Registrar, Ms. Agatha Ajuka; and the University’s Public Relations Officer, Dr. Moyinoluwa Ajayi.

The visit provided an opportunity to assess the progress made so far on the Faculty of Law Building and deliberate on the steps required to advance the construction work to the next stage.

The construction of the building commenced with the support of two benefactors, while the family of Chief Stephen Bakare subsequently took responsibility for continuing the project from where it had previously stopped. The family’s involvement reflects its commitment to supporting the development of the University’s infrastructure and contributing to the growth of legal education at the institution.

During the inspection, it was observed that significant progress had been made on the building, with the roofing completed and the windows installed. These developments represent important milestones in the construction process as the project moves towards its next phase.

Discussions during the visit focused on the work completed, the outstanding requirements and the necessary steps to ensure the continuation of construction. The next milestone in the project is expected to be achieved soon.
