Augustine University, at its 5th Convocation Ceremony scheduled to hold on Thursday, will inaugurate popular business magnate, Mr. Femi Otedola, CON as Chancellor of the Institution.

This was made known during a press conference held at the Institution on Monday, 23rd October 2023.

According to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Christopher Odetunde, the momentous occasion will honor the achievements of 56 graduands with the overall best graduating student (Miss Kehinde Ogunbanwo) emerging from the Department of Computer Science with a CGPA of 4.86.

The Professor of Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering also stated that the ceremony will showcase Augustine University’s commitment to academic excellence and personal growth and mark the inauguration of its new Chancellor, Mr. Femi Otedola, CON.

Professor Odetunde added that the ceremony will include the presentation of Diploma certificates in Pastoral Music to 35 graduands of St. Gregory Diploma School of Music, an affiliate of Augustine University.

He further noted that the convocation lecture titled "The Law, the Youth, Morality, and Contemporary Nigerian Society” will be delivered by a distinguished legal scholar, Professor Mike Ozekhome.

Present at the press conference include the Registrar, Mrs. Margaret Aziba, Acting Bursar, Mrs. Mary Ajibulu, Principal Librarian, Mr. Adeyinka Oshilalu, Dean of Faculty of Science, Professor Harrison Longe, Dean of Faculty of Humanities, Management and Social Sciences, Professor Joseph Omoregbe, Acting Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Amarachukwu Obayiuwana, Head of Department, Mass Communication, Professor Oloruntola Sunday, the Director of Operations, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Ogundele, Chief Security Officer, Mr. Aremu Johnson and students from the Department of Mass Communication.

The Convocation week kickstarted with a Holy Mass on Sunday, 22nd October, 2023, at the Convocation Hall.

Other events slated for the Convocation week include an interactive sports session on Monday, 23rd October, 2023 by 4:00pm followed by a food fiesta by 12noon and praise night and orchestra by 7:000pm on Tuesday, 24th October 2023.

A Thanksgiving Mass, interaction with Alumni Association and NYSC Orientation would follow on Wednesday, 25th October, 2023.
The final event comes up with the Convocation Ceremony for Award of First Degrees, Diploma Certificates, and inauguration of new Chancellor will be held on Thursday, 26th October, 2023. A get-together party for graduands would come up by 9:00 pm the same day to celebrate their accomplishments.
