NUC Team Conducts Third Phase of E-Learning Readiness Assessment at Augustine University In a significant step towards advancing digital education, the National Universities Commission (NUC) team conducted the third phase of their e-learning readiness assessment at Augustine University, Ilara-Epe. The team was warmly received at the Senate Chamber on Monday, 11th February, 2024, by the University Management led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Christopher Odetunde. Speaking at the meeting, the NUC team, emphasized the importance of embracing digital education in today's rapidly evolving landscape. According to them, "E-learning has become a cornerstone in the global education system, especially in the wake of recent challenges and the Commission's goal is to ensure that Nigerian universities are well-equipped to provide quality education through advanced technological means". The assessment visit is in line with the Commission's mandate of conducting investigations relating to higher education as the Commission may consider necessary in the national interest and of initiating and promoting proficiency in the use of ICT for service delivery in the Nigerian University System and Augustine University has been selected as one of the participating Institutions. The first and second phases of the assessment were carried out in 2021 and 2022, respectively. The assessment process involved a thorough evaluation of Augustine University's existing technological infrastructure, faculty readiness, and overall preparedness to seamlessly integrate e-learning into the Institution’s academic programs.
