Leo Stan Ekeh Foundation Donates Computer Devices to Augustine University In a generous gesture aimed at enhancing educational resources and technological advancement, the Leo Stan Ekeh Foundation has donated a significant array of digital equipment to Augustine University. The commissioning ceremony was held on Thursday, 4th April, 2024 at the Cybersecurity Laboratory situated in the University's Convocation Hall building, with donation of 30 desktop computers, 50 tablet computers, and an electronic smartboard, generously provided by Dr. Leo Stan Ekeh, the Chairman of Zinox Technologies Ltd. In his address, the donor, Dr. Leo Stan Ekeh emphasized the importance of leveraging technology to empower educational institutions and nurture the talents of future leaders. He expressed his belief that access to modern digital tools will help in shaping the learning experiences of students and preparing them for the challenges of the digital age. Acknowledging the significant contribution, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Augustine University, Sir Steve Omojafor, OON expressed his gratitude to Dr. Ekeh and the Leo Stan Ekeh Foundation. They praised the foundation for its dedication to promoting education and advancing technological literacy among students. The Vice-Chancellor of Augustine University, Professor Christopher Odetunde also extended appreciation to Dr. Ekeh, highlighting the transformative impact the donated equipment would have on the University's academic programmes and research endeavors. As part of the ceremony, attendees were treated to a demonstration of the smartboard's capabilities by the ICT Acting Director, Rev. Sr. Adebola Daramola. The interactive session showcased the potential applications of the smartboard in facilitating dynamic and engaging teaching and learning experiences. The event was hybrid, blending physical presence with virtual participation, as some attendees joined virtually. Attendees who participated virtually were the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Augustine University, Sir Steve Omojafor, a member of the Governing Council of Augustine University, Mr. Peter Nwanze, the Vice-Chancellor of Augustine University, Professor Christopher Odetunde, and the donor Dr. Leo Stan Ekeh himself. Among those present at the event pyhsically were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Anthony Akinwale, OP; the Registrar, Mrs. Margaret Aziba; the Acting Bursar, Mrs. Mary Ajibulu; the Principal Librarian, Mr. Adeyinka Oshilalu; the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Management, and Social Sciences, Professor Joseph Omoregbe; the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Amarachukwu Obayiuwana; and the Director of Operations, Dr. Emmanuel Ogundele (Rev. Fr.) along with other members of staff and students.
