AUI Hosts Academic Luminaries to Celebrate Rev. Msgr. Professor Ogunmodede Augustine University, Ilara-Epe, Lagos State, hosted an International Conference on Tuesday, 10th December, 2024, to honor the distinguished academic and clergyman, Rev. Msgr. Professor Francis Ishola Ogunmodede, a Board of Trustees Member of the Institution. The event, held at the University Convocation Hall, brought together academics, students, and guests from across Nigeria and beyond to celebrate his outstanding contributions to academia and the Church. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Christopher Odetunde, in his opening remarks, described Rev. Msgr. Ogunmodede as a scholar par excellence, a spiritual father whose contributions to Augustine University have been instrumental in its growth and development. The Keynote Address was delivered by Professor Wale Olajide, who provided insightful perspectives on the conference’s theme. A roundtable session followed, with panelists including Dr. Okorie and Dr. Oladosu from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife; and Dr. Victoria Akoleowo from the University of Ibadan. The Lead Paper was presented by Rev. Prof. Mark Ikeke, who explored the theme in detail, offering profound reflections that captivated the audience. Parallel sessions ran concurrently, providing participants an opportunity to engage in focused discussions on various aspects of the conference theme, further enriching the intellectual experience. In his closing remarks and vote of thanks, Rev. Msgr. Professor Ogunmodede expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Augustine University and all attendees. He highlighted the significance of such gatherings in ensuring academic collaboration and advancing knowledge.
