AUI Management Visits Alara of Ilara Kingdom and the Otedola Family Ahead of 7th Convocation Ceremony

The Management of Augustine University, Ilara-Epe, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Professor Anthony Alaba Akinwale, O.P., paid a courtesy visit to the Alara of Ilara Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, Telade IV, and the Otedola Family in Epe, Lagos State.

The visit, held as part of the Vice-Chancellor’s familiarization tour, was also to formally invite the revered monarch and the Otedola Family to the University’s 7th Convocation Ceremony scheduled to hold on Thursday, 30th October, 2025.

Receiving the delegation at his palace in Ilara-Epe, Oba Ogunsanwo expressed delight at the visit and reaffirmed the community’s commitment to the success of Augustine University.

“AUI is the kingdom’s industry, and we will ensure that the University continues to succeed and remain a shining star in Nigeria and beyond. We are very proud of the school and will assist the Vice-Chancellor in moving the University forward, just as his predecessor did,” the Alara said.

The monarch also prayed for the Vice-Chancellor’s success, wishing him divine wisdom to steer the institution’s affairs. He expressed optimism for the University’s continued expansion into new academic frontiers, including the establishment of Law and Medical programmes.

Oba Ogunsanwo further assured the Management of the Kingdom’s continued support, particularly in the areas of security and electricity supply. “We are on top of that and will continue to support more. More plans are in place to increase these, and the University will be a beneficiary. We will continue collaborating with AUI,” he added.

The Management team later visited the Otedola Family in Epe, where they were warmly received by Dame Doja Otedola, mother of the University’s Chancellor, Mr. Femi Otedola, CON. Dame Otedola expressed joy at the visit and fondly recalled the early years of the University’s establishment, commending its steady growth and achievements.

The Vice-Chancellor, on behalf of the University Management, appreciated both the Alara and the Otedola Family for their continuous support and pledged the institution’s commitment to sustaining excellence in teaching, research, and service to humanity.

Management members who accompanied the Vice-Chancellor on the visit included the Registrar, Mrs. Margaret Aziba; the Bursar, Mrs. Omowunmi Rojaiye; the Principal Librarian, Mr. Adeyinka Oshilalu; the Director of Operations, Rev. Fr. Dr. Emmanuel Ogundele; the University Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Andrew Toye; and the Public Relations Officer, Ms. Moyinoluwa Ajayi.
