A total of 148 students will graduate from Augustine University, Ilara-Epe, at the institution’s 7th Convocation Ceremony, with 22 of them earning First Class Honours.

The event is scheduled to hold on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at the University Convocation Hall.

The announcement was made during a Press Conference held on Tuesday, 28th October, 2025 at the Senate Chamber, ahead of the convocation.

The gathering officially marked the beginning of activities leading up to the convocation ceremony and the university’s 10th anniversary celebrations.

In his address, the Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Alaba Akinwale, OP, announced that 148 students will receive first degree certificates, while 21 students will be awarded diploma certificates.

He explained that the diploma graduands are from the St. Gregory School of Pastoral Music, which is affiliated with Augustine University through the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies. This affiliation, he said, reflects the university’s growing influence and collaboration in promoting education that integrates academics, arts, and faith-based learning.

Prof. Akinwale congratulated the graduating students, describing their success as a reflection of the University’s commitment to intellectual excellence and moral formation.
The Vice-Chancellor also highlighted that this year’s convocation is especially significant as it coincides with Augustine University’s 10th anniversary. He described the milestone as a decade of steady progress, academic integrity, and service to humanity.

He reaffirmed the University’s mission of producing graduates who are morally upright, intellectually grounded, and capable of contributing meaningfully to national and global development.

The Overall Best Graduating Student for the 2025 set is Miss Ifeoluwa Anne Adeyera from the Department of Chemical Sciences, who achieved an impressive Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.90.

The convocation lecture, titled “AUI at 10: Fulfilling the Mandate of Providing Integral University Education for a Borderless World,” will be delivered by Professor Steve Afolami, the Pioneer Vice-Chancellor of Augustine University.

Other highlights of the ceremony include the inauguration of the 2nd Pro-Chancellor, Rt. Hon Dame Winifred Akpani  FCA KSS OFR; the award of degrees and diplomas; and the presentation of prizes to outstanding graduates who have distinguished themselves in academics and character.
