The annual Christmas Carols and 9 Lessons were held on 16 December, 2018 at the Convocation Hall of the University. The event was attended by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Steve Afolami and his wife, Professor (Mrs.) Carolyn Afolami; the Registrar, Mrs. Margaret Aziba and her husband, Professor Peter Aziba, the University Bursar, Mr. Sunday Alabi and the University Librarian, Mr. Adeyinka Oshilalu, as well as Academic and Non-Academic Staff, students and their parents.

The Service began with the celebration of the Holy Mass. In his opening remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Steve Afolami admonished everyone to imbibe the spirit of selflessness and love, in dealing with fellow humans.

As part of the Service, the University drama troupe presented a dramatization of the conception and birth of Jesus Christ. The drama scenes were interspersed with readings which were taken by members of staff, and Christmas Carols rendered by the St. Cecilia Choir of Augustine University. The Choir of St. Peter, Odorangunshin, Epe graced the occasion as well, with their rendition of choice Carols.

In the closing remarks, the Registrar thanked everyone and reminded all that as Christ came to bring joy and peace to the world, we should work on ourselves and adorn ourselves with beautiful colors of virtue.
