Professor Adesola Adetutu Ajayi, the Dean of the Faculty of Science was nominated and won the Nigeria Outstanding Lecturer of the Year award, in the first edition of the National Education Award by the Board of the South West Nigeria Excellence Awards. This award was designed to honour individuals in the Nigerian educational sector who have displayed outstanding professionalism while maintaining ethical standards in the discharge of their duties. Professor Ajayi was nominated by students who have benefited from her wealth of knowledge and deemed her worthy of the honour.
